Softball Game Preview: Bradford Red Devils vs. Dresden Lions

Bradford is 2-7 against Dresden since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Red Devils will host the Lions. Bradford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.

Bradford proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past South Fulton 7-6.

Cara Copous spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leah Page, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ann Birmingham, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Dresden challenged Halls on Monday. The Lions walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Dresden's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Bradford, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
