Baseball Recap: Albany Takes a Loss

Albany and Berean Christian squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Albany had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 6-4. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dexter Johnson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sam Beynon, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Albany's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Berean Christian, they moved to 17-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berean Christian, they will face off against Clear Lake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
