Basketball Game Preview: Cincinnati Christian Cougars vs. New Miami Vikings

Cincinnati Christian is 10-0 against New Miami since January of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. Cincinnati Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Cincinnati Christian will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating Clark Montessori, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Cincinnati Christian breezed by Clark Montessori to the tune of 58-20 on Saturday. Cincinnati Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 26 points or more this season.

Cincinnati Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Serena Cyprien out in front who posted 14 points and four steals. That's the most points Cyprien has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Fitzgerald, who earned eight points.

Meanwhile, New Miami had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They managed a 37-31 win over St. Bernard-Elmwood Place on Saturday. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Cincinnati Christian pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.8 points. As for New Miami, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Cincinnati Christian took their victory against New Miami in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 61-35. Will Cincinnati Christian repeat their success, or does New Miami have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
