Softball Recap: Wheaton North Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Wheaton North can bid farewell to their 15-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Glenbard West Hilltoppers 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Falcons have posted since April 8th.

Delaney Surber and Makayla Hammer did most of the damage at the plate: Surber went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Hammer went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Hammer has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Madilyn Schumacher, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Wheaton North's victory bumped their record up to 7-21. As for Glenbard West, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-16.

Looking ahead, Wheaton North will challenge Geneva at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Glenbard West, they will square off against Lyons at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
