Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Northpoint Christian Academy

NorthPoint Christian Academy proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Grace Academy Lions get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the NightHawks have posted since May 11, 2024.

Tyler Wagner made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because NorthPoint Christian Academy is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise. Wagner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Wagner wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Micah Enriquez, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

The victory was the third in a row for NorthPoint Christian Academy, bringing their record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Grace Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Looking ahead, NorthPoint Christian Academy will square off against Union Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Grace Academy, they will take on Lake Norman Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
