BCLUW is 5-0 against Belle Plaine since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The BCLUW Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Belle Plaine Plainsmen at 6:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

BCLUW had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least 55 points, but Gladbrook-Reinbeck put an end to it on Tuesday. BCLUW was outmatched by Gladbrook-Reinbeck and fell 59-24. The matchup marked the Comets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Belle Plaine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 51-4 loss at the hands of Sigourney. While losing is never fun, the Plainsmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Savages are ranked 115th).

Belle Plaine's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for BCLUW, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5.

Everything came up roses for BCLUW against Belle Plaine in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 54-22 win. Will BCLUW repeat their success, or does Belle Plaine have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
