Basketball Recap: Orange Grove Comes Up Short

Orange Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 79-36 defeat at the hands of the Wimberley Texans.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wimberley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harley Peacock, who shot 60% from the field en route to 15 points and six steals. Peacock is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Gumbert-Mendoza, who went 9-for-14 on his way to 19 points.

Orange Grove's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Wimberley, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Orange Grove has already played their next matchup, a 58-52 win against Incarnate Word Academy on the 6th. As for Wimberley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-42 victory against La Vernia on the 6th.
