Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest Find Success

While Mountain Crest put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Sky View. The Mustangs came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 5-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Rylin Needham's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Mountain Crest let Mason Smith and Ryder Bradford run wild. Smith went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run, while Bradford went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Smith has posted since back in March.

The win made it two in a row for Mountain Crest and bumps their season record up to 13-6. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Sky View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Mountain Crest will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sky View: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
