Olivet won the last time they faced Lakewood and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles blew past the Vikings, posting a 42-14 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

Ty Evert had a dynamite game, rushing for 133 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. What's more, he posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Olivet was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 226 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Lakewood's loss came despite strong showings from Max Thrun and Carter Stewart. Thrun threw for 203 yards on nine of 20 attempts, while Stewart rushed for 49 yards and one touchdown.

The win was the fifth in a row for Olivet, bringing their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.4 points over those games. As for Lakewood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Olivet will head out to take on Comstock Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.25 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lakewood, they will welcome Ionia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
