Basketball Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

Polytechnic lost against Wyatt back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Polytechnic Parrots were outmatched by the Wyatt Chaparrals and fell 58-18. The Parrots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Polytechnic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lakendra Williams, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Williams has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Celeste Gasca, who put up seven points and four steals.

Polytechnic's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Wyatt, the win got them back to even at 8-8.

Polytechnic will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against North Side at 6:00 p.m. Polytechnic is facing North Side at the right time seeing as North Side is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Wyatt, they are taking a road trip to face off against South Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
