Basketball Recap: Josie Knepp Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Loogootee

It's playoff time, and Barr-Reeve had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Loogootee Lions by a score of 47-34 on Wednesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Barr-Reeve's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josie Knepp led the charge by putting up 16 points and six rebounds. Those 16 points gave Knepp a new career-high. Hannah Bledsoe was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards.

Loogootee's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Madison Waggner, who posted 14 points and five rebounds, and Alaina Diamond, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. That was a full 41.2% of Loogootee's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Barr-Reeve's record is now 14-8. As for Loogootee, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Coming up, Barr-Reeve will square off against Orleans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Loogootee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
