Softball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dunmore Bucks. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bucks from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Riverside saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Sandly, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Mackenzie Keller also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Dunmore, their record now sits at 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will square off against Honesdale at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Dunmore, they will be playing at home against Lakeland at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
