Baseball Game Preview: Hackettstown Tigers vs. Wallkill Valley Rangers

The Hackettstown Tigers will take on the Wallkill Valley Rangers on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wallkill Valley will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Hackettstown extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. Hackettstown blew past Dover 12-2. 12 seems to be a good number for Hackettstown as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Hackettstown got a big performance out of Joey Rowinski, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcos Rosado, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple.

Meanwhile, Wallkill Valley got the win against North Warren Regional on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. Considering the Rangers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Wallkill Valley pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hackettstown, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.

Hackettstown came out on top in a nail-biter against Wallkill Valley in their previous meeting last Thursday, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
