Recap: Angola Hornets vs. Fairfield Falcons
The Angola Hornets fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Fairfield Falcons on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 50-47. While losing is never fun, Angola can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Fairfield is ranked 43rd).
Angola's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Macy Oberlin, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals. Another player making a difference was Ava Rinard, who scored 14 points along with 4 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Angola and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Fairfield, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Angola will head out on the road to face off against Central Noble at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Prairie Heights at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
