Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is NSU University's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

NSU University won the last time they faced Gulliver Prep, and Sean Jones did his part to make sure it happened again. The NSU University Sharks blew past the Gulliver Prep Raiders 72-45 on Wednesday thanks in part to Jones, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.9 points per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Osecola, who posted six points and 12 assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

NSU University is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Gulliver Prep, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-7 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. NSU University will venture away from home to challenge Saint Andrew's at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Saint Andrew's has won nine straight at home, while NSU University won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Gulliver Prep, they will head out to face off against Immaculata-La Salle at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
