Owen J. Roberts had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Phoenixville Phantoms as they made off with a 9-1 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by eight runs or more this season.

Amelia Atkins made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddie Reed, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Liza Flavin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Owen J. Roberts' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Phoenixville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Owen J. Roberts will square off against rival Methacton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.7, the Warriors 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Phoenixville is set to take on their familiar foe Pope John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
