Basketball Recap: Chetek-Weyerhaeuser Takes a Loss

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cumberland Beavers. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Beavers earlier this season, when they won 45-39.

Cumberland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Raegan Beecroft out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. What's more, Beecroft also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in November of 2024. Macy Beecroft was another key player, putting up 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Chetek-Weyerhaeuser's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Cumberland, their record now sits at 5-19.

As of now, neither Chetek-Weyerhaeuser nor Cumberland have any future games scheduled.
