AZ Compass Prep suffers third straight loss on the road

The AZ Compass Prep Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-43 to BASIS - Scottsdale. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as AZ Compass Prep came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while BASIS - Scottsdale is ranked 208th).

BASIS - Scottsdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Tropper out in front who scored 18 points along with six steals. Tropper is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Aaryan Dwvedi was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with three steals.

AZ Compass Prep's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 6-9. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-9.

AZ Compass Prep will take on Learning Foundation & Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Learning Foundation & Performing Arts is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for BASIS - Scottsdale, they will head out on the road to square off against Skyline Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Skyline Prep has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 2.
