Basketball Recap: Western Reserve Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Islay Moore and Brooklyn Hall

After flying high against Example Academy National last Saturday, Western Reserve Academy came back down to earth. The Western Reserve Academy Pioneers took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SPIRE Academy SPIRE. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pioneers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the SPIRE are ranked 112th).

Western Reserve Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Brooklyn Hall, who posted 26 points and eight rebounds, and Islay Moore, who on her way to 15 points. What's more, Moore posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in November of 2024. Maya Nahar was another key player, putting up two points in addition to ten boards and six blocks.

Western Reserve Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10. As for SPIRE Academy, their record now sits at 7-13.

As of now, neither Western Reserve Academy nor SPIRE Academy have any future games scheduled.
