Basketball Recap: Tri Takes a Loss

Tri was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Centerville Bulldogs and fell 67-28. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Leading Centerville to victory were Ethan Vecera and Shea Hollendonner. Vecera almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine assists, while Hollendonner went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points. Vecera is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jace Hollendonner, who posted ten points.

Tri's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Centerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Tri has already played their next game (against Randolph Southern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Centerville, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Pendleton Heights at 7:30 p.m. Centerville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Pendleton Heights likes a good challenge.
