Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Winter Park Wildcats

Bishop Moore is 0-8 against Winter Park since April of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop Moore won the last time they faced University, and Marc Francis Callejas did his part to make sure it happened again. The Hornets put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday for which the team can thank Callejas, who had 17 digs and two assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times he's played.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-15, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Winter Park faced Timber Creek in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Wildcats walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Wolves. The win was familiar territory for the Wildcats, who have now won three games in a row.

Bishop Moore has been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Winter Park, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Wednesday's contest: Bishop Moore has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 4.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Winter Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
