Basketball Recap: Sumner Comes Up Short

Sumner was the 49-41 winner over Jonesport-Beals when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Sumner Tigers fell just short of the Jonesport-Beals Royals by a score of 60-58 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Tigers have suffered against the Royals since January 3, 2022.

Sumner dropped their record down to 9-9 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Jonesport-Beals, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Sumner nor Jonesport-Beals have any future games scheduled.
