Softball Game Preview: Pelahatchie Chiefs vs. Scott Central Rebels

The Pelahatchie Chiefs are taking a road trip to challenge the Scott Central Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pelahatchie has now lost 14 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 6.

Things were looking good for Pelahatchie after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Taylorsville by a score of 10-9.

Emalyn Waters led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Mallarie Adams, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Scott Central lost 11-1 to Puckett on Thursday. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Wolves recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Pelahatchie's defeat dropped their record down to 4-22. As for Scott Central, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pelahatchie has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Scott Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Pelahatchie suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Scott Central when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Chiefs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
