Baseball Recap: Tyler Takes a Loss

Tyler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Nacogdoches Dragons, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 10-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Tyler saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Juan Higuera, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Higuera brought in this season.

Tyler's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Nacogdoches, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.

Coincidentally, Tyler and Nacogdoches will both be playing Hallsville the next time they take the field. Nacogdoches will head out to face Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Tyler will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
