Coleman has gone a perfect 4-0 against Lena recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Coleman got the win against Wausaukee by a conclusive 14-5. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by nine runs or more this season.
Cole Berth made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Berth was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gavin Pusick, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Miles Lewis also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Meanwhile, Lena made easy work of Goodman-Pembine on Monday and carried off a 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.
Like Coleman, Lena also got a great game from a two-way player: Bryce Schneider. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Schneider was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Tyler Shallow was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Mason Spice was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Coleman's record now sits at 4-1. As for Lena, their record is now 2-0.
Coleman was able to grind out a solid win over Lena in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 9-4. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
