Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Side). They blew past the Pangburn Tigers 14-7 on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornet as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.
South Side let Hallie Holland and Anjolina Sullivan run wild. Holland went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base, while Sullivan scored four runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most RBI Holland has posted since back in March of 2024. Olivia Frazier also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
South Side was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
South Side's win bumped their record up to 4-9. As for Pangburn, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Side will challenge Bigelow at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pangburn, they will venture away from home to take on Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Yellowjackets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
