Baseball Recap: Greenville Green Wave vs. Sidney Yellowjackets

Greenville had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-13 to make it five. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sidney Yellowjackets. Surprisingly, this marked the Green Wave's sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Carson Good and Jackson Eberwein did some serious damage despite the final result: Good got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Eberwein went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

As for Sidney, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

On Sidney's side, they got a great performance from Michael Frazier as he tossed five innings while giving up five earned runs off five hits. Frazier has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Eli McKenzie was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lucas Knott, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one run.

Coming up, Greenville will take on Bradford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Sidney, they will challenge Lebanon at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
