Basketball Recap: River View Raiders vs. WestSide Renegades
After flying high against Montcalm last Tuesday, River View came back down to earth. The River View Raiders were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 48-47 to the WestSide Renegades. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Renegades recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chasity Kennedy, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Kennedy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Kaci Hatfield, who earned 16 points in addition to two steals.
River View's record is now 1-1. As for WestSide, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River View will welcome Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for WestSide, they will be defending their home-court for the first time this season they go up against Mingo Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
