It was a good run, but the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 39-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rincon/University. Tucson High Magnet School was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Rincon/University apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Rincon/University found their leader in underclassman Leila O'Dowd, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which O'Dowd has scored at least a third of Rincon/University's points. Another player making a difference was Daphne Safo, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Tucson High Magnet School's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Rincon/University, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
