Preview: South vs. Northwest

South (3-4) and Northwest (2-5) take on one another this Friday at 7:00 PM on South's home turf. South has a win under its belt but has never won back-to-back; of course, Northwest will be hoping to keep it that way.

South brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (six points) in the match before. It didn't have too much trouble with West in its last game, where South won 33 - 14. With four TDs, sophomore Tony Friends was a significant factor in the success. Friends's longest touchdown was a 48-yard scramble in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Northwest wasn't able to scrape together any points last week, falling to Olathe North 21 - 0. The game was close at halftime with a score of 7 - 0, but Northwest simply couldn't keep up in the second half.

The last time they met, Northwest was the clear winner with a 34 - 0 finish. South couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Northwest (314 yards compared to 24 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Can South avoid another defeat? We'll see on Friday.
