Soldotna is a perfect 8-0 against Houston since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Stars will square off against the Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Soldotna is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Grace Christian, who was ranked 17th at the time (Soldotna was ranked 12th). The Stars won by a goal and slipped past the Grizzlies 3-2. Lane Hillyer had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Soldotna.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Houston). They put the hurt on Kodiak with a sharp 9-0 victory on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded Houston with their most commanding win of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Houston and bumps their season record up to 4-7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Soldotna, their win bumped their record up to 10-4-1.

Everything went Soldotna's way against Houston in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Soldotna made off with a 7-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
