Baseball Recap: Waupaca Takes a Loss

Waupaca lost against Freedom back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Comets fell just short of the Irish by a score of 7-6. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waupaca got a good showing from Benji Becker, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Becker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ethan Harms was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Aaron Wolff was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Waupaca's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Freedom, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

While Waupaca had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
