Baseball Recap: Mize Beats Heidelberg for Their Second Straight Win

Mize made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Heidelberg, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Mize never let Heidelberg get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Will Duckworth looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Mize got a massive performance out of Garrison Carrell, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Noah Gilpin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

The win made it two in a row for Mize and bumps their season record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Heidelberg, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
