Preview: Forest Park Foresters vs. Lewis Falcons
Forest Park has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Lewis Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Park knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Lewis likes a good challenge.
Forest Park can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past Douglass, posting a 90-7 victory on the road. Given Forest Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Douglass is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Forest Park found their leader in underclassman India Watkins, who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Watkins has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shakira Mitchell, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Lewis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 69-10 loss at the hands of Patterson.
Forest Park has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for Lewis, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home.
Everything came up roses for Forest Park against Lewis when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 89-6 win. With Forest Park ahead 57-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.
