Basketball Game Preview: Denton Broncos vs. Colleyville Heritage Panthers

The Denton Broncos will venture away from home to square off against the Colleyville Heritage Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Denton will be strutting in after a victory while Colleyville Heritage will be coming in after a loss.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Denton challenged Grapevine on Tuesday. Denton walked away with a 54-47 win over Grapevine. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Broncos.

Ethan Sheats was his usual excellent self, putting up 30 points. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Landon Verdin, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Colleyville Heritage lost to Argyle on the road by a 55-40 margin on Tuesday.

Denton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Colleyville Heritage, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-13.

Everything went Denton's way against Colleyville Heritage in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as Denton made off with a 56-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
