Baseball Game Preview: Rye Thunderbolts vs. Lamar Thunder

Rye is 0-8 against Lamar since April of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Thunderbolts will host the Thunder at 4:00 p.m. Lamar took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rye, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, Rye needed a bit of extra time to put away Crowley County. They walked away with a 10-7 win over the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Lamar started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Manitou Springs. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4 on Saturday.

Alex Williams was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Aguilar, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Rye's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7. As for Lamar, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-8.
