Baseball Game Preview: Desert Christian Academy Conquerors vs. Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Mustangs

The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors will head out on the road to challenge the Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Desert Christian Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Desert Christian Academy came up short against Temecula Prep and fell 7-2.

Desert Christian Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Westin Abarrate, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School won against Hamilton on Friday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Mustangs beat San Jacinto Leadership Academy by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Brandon Morinaga and Johnny Morinaga did most of the damage at the plate: Brandon scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Johnny went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Johnny a new career-high. Luke Ludwig was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Desert Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Desert Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Desert Christian Academy suffered a grim 21-4 defeat to Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic School in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Conquerors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
