Softball Game Preview: Stadium Tigers vs. Gig Harbor Tides

The Stadium Tigers will challenge the Gig Harbor Tides at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Stadium came up short against River Ridge and fell 7-4. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

London Kim made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kate Erickson, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gig Harbor). They were the clear victors by a 21-8 margin over Lincoln on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Tides with their most commanding win of the season.

Gig Harbor pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Stadium, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Stadium came out on top in a nail-biter against Gig Harbor in their previous matchup back in May of 2019, sneaking past 2-0. Does Stadium have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gig Harbor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
