Basketball Recap: Cotopaxi's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cotopaxi won the last time they faced South Park and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cotopaxi Pirates blew past the South Park Burros 51-27. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-8.

Cotopaxi was led to victory by Terrance Evans and Kenny Teter. Evans dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Teter dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards. Evans has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 27 times he's played. Joel Tezak was another key player, putting up ten points.

The win (which was Cotopaxi's fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2. As for South Park, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Cotopaxi will take on Sierra Grande at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sierra Grande has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for South Park, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-17 defeat against Sanford on the 24th.
