Football Recap: Tri Titans vs. Northeastern Knights

Tri lost against Northeastern back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tri Titans were dealt a 44-16 defeat at the hands of the Northeastern Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Titans have suffered against the Knights since September 16, 2016.

Although Tri took the loss, they still got scores from Cameron Boone and Isaiah Dewitt.

Even though they lost, Tri was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 234 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northeastern only rushed for 135.

Northeastern got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Waters out in front who threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 34 yards.

Tri's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northeastern, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri will face off against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to face off against Winchester Community at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
