Softball Recap: South Oldham Gets the Win

After losing to Bath County the last time they met, South Oldham decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Dragons walked away with a 5-1 win over the Wildcats on Friday.

Hailey Fackler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

On the hitting side, South Oldham let Mya Pasley and Addi Schrecker run wild. Pasley scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Schrecker scored a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Schrecker a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grace Turner, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.

South Oldham's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Bath County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Oldham will challenge Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bath County, they will head out to challenge Mason County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
