East Union has gone 9-1 against Sierra recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lancers will venture away from home to take on the Timberwolves at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East Union has five straight victories, Sierra has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
East Union's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Argonaut. Considering the Lancers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Mikayla Simpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Altstadt, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Savanna Lopez also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Sierra fell victim to Patterson and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.
East Union's record is now 14-12. As for Sierra, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-13.
Sierra's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. East Union has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Sierra, though, as they've been averaging only 3 strikeouts. Will East Union keep running through batters, or will the Timberwolves buck the trend?
Everything went East Union's way against Sierra in their previous matchup on April 2nd, as East Union made off with a 29-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
