Volleyball Recap: Burroughs Extends Winning Streak to Three

Burroughs proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by three) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Corona Panthers, sneaking past 2-1. The Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Burroughs had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-14, 15-12.

Despite the loss, Corona still got an impressive performance from Charlotte Christelman, who had five digs and four aces.

The win was the third in a row for Burroughs, bringing their record up to 21-6. As for Corona, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-11.

Burroughs has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Jurupa Valley on the 11th. As for Corona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Laguna Beach on the 11th.
