Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans vs. Lyndon Tigers
The Cedar Vale/Dexter Spartans fell victim to the Lyndon Tigers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Tigers 55-0. While losing is never fun, Cedar Vale/Dexter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 90th, while Lyndon is ranked third).
Jalen Massey was on fire for Lyndon: he rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown. Massey was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards. Ethen Ramey was in the mix as well, providing Lyndon with two touchdowns.
Cedar Vale/Dexter are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.3 points per game. As for Lyndon, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Cedar Vale/Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lyndon will square off against South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Sumner [Caldwell/South Haven] is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
