On Friday, the Montverde Academy Purple Eagles took their match with ease, bagging a 68-32 victory over the Four Corners Coyotes. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Coyotes are ranked 634th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Montverde Academy Purple to victory were Jeremiah Gordon and Dylan Layton. Gordon posted 15 points, while Layton dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Layton a new career-high in assists (five). Mincheng Cao was another key player, putting up ten points.
