After a string of six wins, Northview Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jefferson County Patriots. The Cougars were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Northview Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Jefferson County work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 18-25, 25-21, 25-19.

Lily Stevens paced Northview Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Stevens got some help from Megan Underwood and her 15 assists. Underwood also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Marissa Pierce, each putting up four.

Northview Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-4. As for Jefferson County, the win snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 4-9 record.

Northview Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Seymour on the 30th. Jefferson County has also already played their next match (against Grainger), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
