Basketball Game Preview: Amherst County Lancers vs. Liberty Minutemen

Amherst County is 8-2 against Liberty since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Amherst County Lancers will head out to take on the Liberty Minutemen at 7:00 p.m. Amherst County has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since January 24.

Amherst County came up short against Jefferson Forest on Friday, falling 59-37.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Devonte Wade, who posted 11 points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in rebounds. Levi Campbell was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). They walked away with an 83-73 win over Altavista on Monday.

Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 5-17. As for Amherst County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-20.

Amherst County strolled past Liberty when the teams last played back in January by a score of 75-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amherst County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
