Volleyball Recap: West Springfield Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Agawam

West Springfield faced Agawam in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Terriers fell just short of the Brownies by a score of 3-2. The Terriers have struggled against the Brownies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

West Springfield took Agawam into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-18, 22-25, 21-25, 15-10.

West Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Agawam, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 23-2.

West Springfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Agawam, they will challenge Wayland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
