Football Recap: Prescott Comes Up Short

Prescott dropped down to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They were outmatched by the Bismarck Lions and fell 41-0. Having soared to a lofty 55 points in the game before, the Curley Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Even if they lost, Prescott's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Ja'Ryan Zachary was especially locked on to Bismarck's QB and sacked him twice. Zachary also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight.

As for Bismarck, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games.

Caedmon Keithley produced another solid effort rushing for 104 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. He has been hot, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last five times he's played. Clayton Martinez made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Prescott wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 49-13 loss against Smackover on the 31st. As for Bismarck, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-6 win against Centerpoint on the 31st.
