Preview: Bridger Scouts vs. Reed Point/Rapelje Renegades
Bridger is 10-0 against Reed Point/Rapelje since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The pair will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
After a string of five wins, Bridger's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Broadview/Lavina.
Meanwhile, Reed Point/Rapelje's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their 11th straight loss. They fell 40-31 to Fromberg.
Despite the loss, Reed Point/Rapelje saw an underclassman step up: Landen Bryant scored ten points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bryant has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Axel Blodgett, who scored eight points along with 15 rebounds.
Bridger's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Reed Point/Rapelje, they dropped their record down to 3-11 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Everything went Bridger's way against Reed Point/Rapelje in their previous matchup on January 12th as Bridger made off with a 56-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bridger since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
